30.11.22 Today’s Insights on Careers within the High-Growth Media Industry
Dear Students,

The word “media,” which hails from the 16th century, is defined by MacMillan Dictionary as “any form of communication that delivers information.” They add: The main goal of the media is to inform or communicate with the greatest number of people possible, all at once. “

But what’s it really like to work in the media industry?

The answer to this question depends on which aspect of the field you may be considering. With career options ranging from writing, editing and journalism to production and marketing/advertising, more recent paths include e-commerce and related communication technologies, as well.

Some ambitious international students, like you, may be new to the breadth of this wide-ranging field in the West, which extends well beyond TV and radio (which may be your first association to the term). What’s more, PwC estimates that the field is growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 11% over the next 5 years, offering a bright outlook to new entrants like you.
