29.01.2024 Today’s Insights from NACE: Differing Perceptions of New Grads’ Competencies
While hiring professionals and 2023 grads, (like you and your friends), appear to share a similar understanding of the 3 most critical skills for early career entrants (which is great), hiring pros (surprisingly!) rate the proportion of you who exhibit such competencies as being much lower than the proportion of you who say you do (which is not great at all). Some of the attached comparisons are particularly striking, such as the gap between the employer and student perceptions of demonstrated leadership skills and professionalism.
This article from the National Association of Colleges and Employers, the authoritative US body known as NACE, points to further evidence of the powerful value of our MCI program and the proven wisdom of our experienced coaches in both imparting and facilitating development of key power skills among ambitious international students like you.
Although new college graduates looking to enter the workforce and employers hiring these graduates agree on which competencies are most important for job candidates to hone, their perception of student proficiency in them differs.
