Dear Students,

Are you someone who would prefer a less commonly-known data science role? If so, the article below is an intriguing place to start identifying options. Given that the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) projects a whopping 35% increase in data scientist jobs from 2022-2032, why shouldn’t an aspiring talent like you pursue a non-traditional path? Within the US alone, BLS estimates that an additional 17,700 data science professionals annually will be needed during this time!

Yet, some ambitious international students, perhaps even you, hesitate to undertake a career in the data science field, perhaps feeling that you currently lack sufficient technical skills to succeed. Ironically, however, while it’s relatively straightforward to identify courses, programs, bootcamps, videos, tutors (etc.) to learn to code, master machine learning, and complete mock client projects etc., it’s much harder to develop the “power” skills,  which are readily built through coaching, that actually portend success for new grads like you and your friends, down the line. This reality is corroborated here: https://www.wiseworld.ai/blog/soft-skills-for-career-success, wherein, according to research from Harvard and Stanford, “power” skills (aka soft skills) are reputably responsible for 85% of career success – even in technical fields.

It’s significant that our coaches support aspiring professionals like you in focusing your efforts on what really matters for global career success, (instead of you fearing not getting the highest score in the class on the Java challenge).
