11.10.2024 Today’s Insights on Physics Careers – Inspired by the Nobel Prize and Indeed.com
Dear Students,

Can you imagine what it must be like to receive a middle-of-the-night call from Sweden, to be told that you’ve just received a Nobel prize? This once-in-a-lifetime experience (with only four exceptions) occurred this past week for several honorees, in both Physics and Chemistry. Intriguingly, AI figured prominently in both medals.

To “honor” the prestigious award (which goes to the person/s who have “conferred the greatest benefit to humankind” during the preceding year) in Physics, we’d like to encourage ambitious international students like you, who are excited by the promise of undertaking physics-related careers in the Age of AI, to “think [really] big.” Which career paths might you pursue that could someday lead you, as well, to potentially win or collaborate to win a Nobel?

  • At a high level, aspiring professionals studying physics (perhaps you and your friends?) may find perspectives in this article to be thought-worthy: https://www.huzzle.app/blog/best-career-paths-for-physics-graduates. Bottom line – Physics afficionados like you don’t necessarily hang out in lab coats all day – there are many ways to use your skills and deploy your passion.
As candidates like you peruse these articles, our coaches would like to make sure that you  also get that “friendly reminder” (nudge, nudge) from our team that yes, while there are certainly some essential “hard” skills that will underpin your physics-based career prospects, it’s going to be the breadth and depth of your power skills that differentiates you from your peers as you build a global reputation.

Wishing you a “physically”-relaxing evening.

Best,

Amy-Louise
