13.03.2025 Today’s Insights on Best Roles from Extroverts, from CollegeTransitions.com
Dear Students,

After profiling some great careers for introverts late last month, we had to provide similar guidance for extroverts, too.

In the article below, College Transitions, a firm focused on college planning, highlights the definition of an extrovert and also provides context for the terms “extrovert” and “introvert.” One caveat for ambitious international students like you, from our coaches?: It is not necessary, or even advisable, to “force” yourself into one of these two boxes. As the author herself highlights, “…like many things in life, extraversion and introversion exist on a spectrum.”  You may even be what’s called am ambivert!

Still, as aspiring professionals like you and your friends will note in the article below, which recommends 25 career options for those of you who primarily identify as being “extroverted,” there are certain commonalities among the roles the author suggests. Extroverts tend to enjoy environments with a high level of interpersonal contact, frequent public speaking, and collaboration. You also tend to have a lot of energy!

As any candidate (including you!) might expect, power skills that are key to success in such roles include:
  • Communication (both written and verbal)
  • Empathy
  • Adaptability
  • Planning
  • Curiosity
  • Creativity
  • Willingness to take risks
  • Influence
  • Negotiation
  • Persuasion
  • Collaboration
  • Teamwork
  • Resilience
  • Leadership
etc.

It’s important to remember, though, that careers for extroverts also require power skills that young talent like you might be more likely to associate with careers for introverts, including:
  • Listening
  • Patience
  • Analytical skills
  • Critical thinking
  • Attention to detail
  • Problem-solving
etc.

If, through discussions with your coach, you’d found that you favor a career for extro-verts, here’s wishing you an extra-ordinary ex-ploration into the many options available to you!

Best,

Amy-Louise
