Information About the Speaker
JAMES PROUDLOCK
James is a successful businessman who has had a diverse career in corporate finance, trading, manufacturing, management consultancy, financial technology, banking, fund management and exchanges. James has over 30 years’ experience at CEO, MD and Board level focused on establishing, building and managing businesses for major international firms including, J.P. Morgan, UBS, ED&F Man Group, The London Metal Exchange and John Swire & Sons. He has lived and worked in Hong Kong, Singapore and New Zealand and has dealt extensively with China throughout his career.
James has established two businesses of his own and currently manages a consulting company he founded 20 years ago. His experience of building businesses includes developing and executing a long-term strategic vision and building international teams, brand identity and bottom line performance in challenging global markets and regulatory environments. Having built an online trading business and led J.P. Morgan’s push into electronic commodity trading, he also has a solid grasp of the application and disruptive power of technology.
Throughout his career James has played an active role in hiring and guiding the careers of those that he works with. He was also a member of the graduate recruitment panel at J.P. Morgan for 3 consecutive years.
James speaks Mandarin having grown up in Singapore and studied Chinese and Economics at London University’s School of Oriental and African Studies, and Modern Chinese Language at the Beijing Language and Culture University.
James is eager to share his broad experience across many sectors, his understanding of China and his entrepreneurial skills to help Mandarin Consulting candidates lead successful careers of their own.
