Brian Mitchenère - Coach

Brian Mitchenère

Brian trained as an architect in the UK and the USA but has spent the majority of his professional career in the Middle East and South East Asia. His main area of expertise lies in urban design and planning, as well as project managing.

He has undertaken a host of projects ranging from the Department of London Transport, City planning with Shankland Cox Partnership in Kuwait, Sultan Qaboos Univeristy Project in Oman, Urban Services Department in Hong Kong, working on the University of Hong Kong and the Royal Hong Kong Jockey Club, Percy Thomas Partnership working on City Polytechnic Hong Kong, and many Nucleus Hospitals throughout Malaysia.

Having completed his PhD at the University of California, Berkeley, early on in his career, Brian moved back into academia in Hong Kong at City University. Initially, he assumed the role of Associate Director and Project Manager of the Campus Planning Office, moving on afterwards to becoming a Visiting Teaching Fellow in the Division of Building Science and Technology. As a lecturer, thesis advisor and English mentor, Brian has had a lot of experience with undergraduates looking to start their professional careers.

Currently, Brian is enjoying spending time back in the UK, reflecting on his long career in architecture and looking forward to passing on his life-long lessons and tricks of the trade to Mandarin Consulting candidates.
